What is the fAIr LAC project?

fAIr LAC is a regional partnership led by the Inter-American Development Bank to promote the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence in public policy and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

What is the role of its Hubs?

fAIr LAC is a regional partnership led by the Inter-American Development Bank to promote the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence in public policy and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Its hubs are enabling ecosystems that showcase the desirable conditions to develop and implement the fAIr LAC initiative. The goal is that they become local benchmarks in the responsible use of IA.

The region currently has four hubs: Jalisco (Mexico), Costa Rica, Colombia, and Uruguay.

We work in three dimensions:

Hub objectives	Capacity building	Promote knowledge-producing initiatives to proactively prepare the country to leverage the opportunities provided by responsible and inclusive technology adoption.
	Dynamic ecosystem	Generate a platform allowing public policy and good practice management to promote transparency, equity, and security in developing and processing technology and information, enabling human and planet-centered solutions.
	Citizen and Agency empowerment	Promote entrepreneurship and appropriation of the potential opportunities and risks inherent to emerging technologies and adoption of responsible practices around their individual use.
